Description

SCITEQ SIGMA pressure test solution determines the resistance (both long term and short term) to internal pressure on thermoplastic pipes, fittings and assemblies for conveyance of fluids,
complying with following test standards and equivalent:

  • ISO 1167 and ASTM D1598 long term hydrostatic test. Max. flow rate per station is 2 l/min.
  • ISO 1167 and ASTM D1599 short term testing”Standard Test Method for Time-to-Failure of Plastic Pipe Under Constant Internal Pressure”. Max. allowed pressuring time is 70 seconds Max. flow rate in a burst station is 15 l/min.

Easy and accurate test operation

SIGMA pressure testing system for plastic pipes is controlled via the cloud-based SIGMA software ensuring a stable and linear pressure regulation. The intuitive user-interface can be operated from tablets (iPad is recommended for best performance), PC and even smart phones. It offers a smart and recipe system, for easy control and fast initiation of test. The advantages are among others:

    • Start tests in just three clicks
    • Fast and simple recipe setup
    • Auto-Calibration option
    • Instant report generation
    • Dynamically adjusted real-time finish time
    • OPC UA integration for industrial connectivity
    • SQL database compatibility with a wide range of servers
    • Designed to support Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance

The fast and extremely easy to use interface enables easy operation and control of few as well as many simultaneous pressures tests with features such as dynamically adjusted finish time, full station overview and click less maneuvering.

Recipes are quickly set-up, saving time when starting up a new test (diameter) as well as repeating saved test parameters. Up to four different user-levels from Basic to Advanced, ensuring not only easy operation, but also offering simultaneous ‘view-only’ access for your interested partners and clients.

    Modular pipe pressure testing

SIGMA is a fully modular pipe pressure test system designed to perform accurate hydrostatic pressure tests across pipes and fittings, cables and vessels etc. The pipe pressure testing equipment is designed to meet customer-specific hydrostatic testing needs.

Built for flexibility, scalability, and precision, the system can be configured with multiple pressure modules —making it ideal for both R&D testing and batch production environments.

    Description of the pressure modules

The pipe pressure test system consists of modular, airless standard pressure modules and a central pressure supply unit, all integrated into a cabinet designed for easy configuration and expansion—making SIGMA a future-proof and cost-efficient solution.

    The central pressure supply unit

The PowerPack module is the central pressure supply for all connected modules within the system. It is configurable and scalable to meet specific testing requirements, including pressure levels, specimen types, materials, and applicable standards.

Multiple configurations are available, including options with or without output for BURST modules. The unit is built with high-quality components, a high-performance pump, and a 10-micron inlet filter—ensuring reliable, energy-efficient, and durable operation.

    • Max. 100 or 160 bar / 1450 – 2320 psi regulated pressure output.
    • Max. 200 bar /2900 psi unregulated output (optional)
    • Max. flow: 17 l/min.

The Pressure modules – up to 160 bar

The SIGMA pressure modules provide 5 or 10 independently controlled pressure stations for simultaneous testing of multiple samples. Each station operates with high precision, supported by fast-acting valves for accurate pressure control. The pressure outlets are seamlessly performing static, step and burst testing used for both R&D purpose and batch release testing. The optional automatic calibration offers individual pressure transmitters calibration using class 0,1 transmitter.

    • For static, step and burst test of pipes and fittings
    • Fully automatic recipe based test
    • 5 or 10 independent pressure outlets. One cabinet can be fitted with up to 50 pressure outlets
    • Max. pressure: 100 or 160 bar /1450 – 2320 psi.

The High-Flow pressure module – up to 250 bar

The HCP3 module is designed for high-flow pressure testing for applications requiring high flow rates and larger test volumes. It provides three independently controlled pressure stations with fast-response valves for precise pressure regulation.

    • Module includes 3 individual high flow pressure stations
    • Max. pressure: up to 250 bar
    • Max. flow: 15 l/min
    • Fully automatic recipe based test.

The High-Pressure modules – up to 250 bar

The HP3 and HP5 modules offer individual pressure stations for high-pressure testing applications. Each station operates independently and can supply max. flow of 2 l/min at rated pressure, allowing flexible and precise testing conditions.

        • Module includes 3 or 5 individual high pressure stations
        • Max. pressure: up to 250 bar
        • Max. flow: 2 l/min per station
        • Fully automatic recipe based test.

Solutions for smaller samples and layouts

The liteSERIES, consisting of 3 small stand-alone pressure testers is the cost-effective choice for the smart and precise internal hydrostatic pipe tests. The three plug and play units offer quick setup and simple maintenance, while also ensuring extremely precise regulation and flow. Combined with the compact energy-optimized 350 liters test tank; liteTANK the pressure test setup is complete, perfect for smaller labs and/or testing of smaller dimensions pipe and fitting samples.

With the user-friendly SIGMA software use-interface burstONE, liteFIVE and SIGMAlite simplifies hydrostatic testing while delivering high accuracy.

        • The liteFIVE test unit offers 5 fixed airless pressure stations delivering pressure range up to 100 bar/ 1450 psi and a maximum flow of 2 l/min. For pressure testing in compliance with a long list of international standards among others ASTM D1598, ASTM 1599 & ISO 1167.”Temperature control accuracy of ±0.5 °C.
        • The SIGMAlite unit offers 5 airless pressure outlets with a range of up to 160 bar/ 2320 psi and a maximum flow of 8 l/min. This solution also complies with international standards such as ASTM D1598, ASTM 1599 & ISO 1167.
