The SCITEQ liteTANK represents a significant shift towards more energy-efficient laboratory infrastructure by incorporating advanced thermal management and material selection, addressing the growing need for sustainable practices without sacrificing compliance, repeatability, or durability.
Developing new products, SCITEQ incorporates six decades of practical insights from hands-on experience working with global pipe manufacturers.
The new liteTANK is a thermo water bath engineered for the preparation and hydrostatic pressure testing of plastic pipes, tubes, and fittings in accordance with ASTM D1598, ASTM D1599, ISO 1167, and related standards, with a clear focus on operational efficiency and long-term reliability.
Designed for laboratories that prioritize energy efficiency, SCITEQ offers a specialized technically sound solution for facilities, that prioritize thermal stability and energy efficiency over unnecessary complexity. In that sense, it represents a disciplined engineering response to modern laboratory constraints—doing exactly what is required, and doing it well.
Laboratory space is increasingly constrained, yet test requirements remain unchanged. liteTANK addresses this mismatch directly. With an external footprint of 115 × 75 cm, it is optimized for smaller test layouts and shorter pipe samples while still delivering stable thermal conditions across the full water column of the conditioning tank.
The internal geometry and circulation design ensure uniform temperature distribution around the test specimen—an essential prerequisite for meaningful long-term pressure testing and regression analysis.
The test bath is suitable for numerous variations of test set-ups and test specimens and can hold max diameter of Ø315 mm pipe sample (1 pcs.) mounted with end caps without tie-bar (Observe max length according to the tank inner dimensions).
Temperature control, often overlooked, can significantly increase operational costs in hydrostatic testing due to energy consumption and equipment wear. liteTANK integrates high-grade insulation with an efficient circulation system to minimize thermal losses and reduce unnecessary power consumption.
These values are not marketing targets—they are functional thresholds that support reproducible testing over extended durations while keeping energy use predictable and contained.
liteTANK is built around an AISI 304 stainless steel inner tank, lid, and piping system, chosen for its corrosion resistance, mechanical robustness. The exterior made of powder coated steel designed for easy maintenance access, ensures a long service life in industrial test environments.
The result is a conditioning unit designed for continuous operation with minimal maintenance intervention—an important consideration for laboratories running multi-shift or long-duration test programs.
The thermo test tank is delivered as a fully integrated, plug-and-play unit:
Quick coupling allows for a direct connection to the pressure source selected by the laboratory, which simplifies integration into existing test setups and reduces installation complexity.
Testing protocols evolve. The liteTANK is designed with this in mind. For applications requiring test temperatures below 20 °C, an optional chiller solution can be added to the test tank —either at initial installation or retrofitted later. This modular approach avoids premature over-investment while ensuring the system remains technically relevant as standards or product requirements change.
